Your Vet Team

Dr Kirsty Fridemanis BVSc (Hons)
Hi, I’m Dr Kirsty! I started Toowong Family Vet with the dream of providing the highest level of care to peoples’ pets, while understanding that everyone leads different lives. Whether you are busy with work or kids, or you are finding more time in your life, I understand that you love your pets as a part of your family. Hence, I wanted to build the sort of veterinary clinic where we could welcome the busy commuter who needs to fly past the vet on the way to work, as well as the passer by who wants to stop in with their pet for treats and a chat. It’s not just about the individual or the individual pets, but the way you have created your beautiful family together.

I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 with a Bachelor in Veterinary Science. I have worked extensively in animal shelters and in private practice, and I love all aspects of veterinary practice. I constantly strive to be a better vet for my patients, and thus I have been studying for my post-graduate qualifications in small animal surgery. I am a seminar and workshop junkie, and I keep up-to-date with the latest developments in veterinary medicine and surgery.

I am so proud of Toowong Family Vet. Please come and pay us a visit and you will receive a very warm welcome from our animal-crazy team!
Dr Tegan Pringle BVSc (Hons)

Hi, I'm Dr Tegan. I have joined Toowong Family Vet to fulfil my passion of helping pets lead happier and healthier lives! I graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2006 and have been working as a Vet for the last seven years, in Adelaide, the UK and around Brisbane.

I grew up on the Sunshine Coast just outside of Eumundi where I developed my passion for animals, with a menagerie of pets including a horse, birds and many cats and dogs.

Currently I own a mischeivous cat named Keshi and a boisterous one year old Labrador named Lila! My particular interests are in challenging medical cases, particularly those involving our feline friends. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, travelling and walking my Labrador, Lila.

Tahlia Woodlock

Hi, I'm Tahlia! I've been in the industry for nearly 10 years, starting out my days as a doggy bather and professional chit-chatter. I loved my Saturday bath-sesh so much, that over the next 12 months, I worked my way up to a permanent nursing position within the practice. I've always considered my animals as part of the family, and understand the intricate role that our pets play in our day-to-day life. It's probably this reason that the lovely Dr Kirsty and I clicked when we first met on the Gold Coast a few years ago, and vowed to some day open a practice together.

I particularly enjoy giving kisses, massages and treaties to our patients. Usually accompanied with a 'cute', 'handsome' or 'sweet' and known to refer to patients as 'sausage' or 'chicken', I love the day-to-day happenings within the clinic. I also have a bit of a soft spot for the oldies - the nanny and grandad cats and dogs that come in, all grey-haired and with their slow-paced swagger.

I have always dreamt of being a part of a new clinic. To be a part of something that not only enables me to do what I love every day, but create somewhere you can come and feel at ease. Where your pet is comfortable - whether it be for a cuddle and a treat, or check up or surgery. I'm so proud of what we have created, and believe what we can provide for you and your furry family members is not only second to none, but above all – genuine. We don’t just focus on doing the best, but what is best for you, and most importantly - your furry friend

So always feel free to pop in with your little one and say hi - our doors are open and pockets filled with treaties!

Marie Flink

Hi, my name is Marie. I’m one of the nurses at Toowong Family Vet. I started my career as a dog groomer about 3 years ago but soon realised I wanted something different. I knew from an early age that animals, in particular dogs and cats, were my passion so I decided to pursue a career in Veterinary nursing. And how I LOVE my job! I’m currently studying my certificate IV in Veterinary nursing as well as being a full time staff member of Toowong Family Vet. I treat every animal like my own and I have in the past been known to try to dog or cat-nap my patients (without any success I might add).

I’m the proud owner of Abey the hyper Staffy, Bambam the goofy Labradoodle and Sven the pesky Devon Rex cat who take up all my spare time and leftover cuddles. I’m looking forward to meeting all of the local furries and their families.

See you soon down at the vet.

Cliodhna Geraghty
Hi I am Cliodhna! I am one of the Trainee Nurses at Toowong Family Vet. I have lived in the area my whole life but despite being so close to the city I have been lucky to grow up surrounded by many animals of all shapes and sizes. I have always had a passion for the well being of animals, and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to provide the highest level of care for your pets. I am currently studying at the University of Queensland and I plan to graduate one day as Vet.

I am the owner of a crazy Labrador Retriever named Wally, who definitely behaves true to his name. From time to time you may even catch him and Norman midway through one of their staring contests down at the clinic.
I hope to see you soon!
Norman - QLD Dermcare Clinic Cat of the Year 2015
Hello human beings! My name is Norman. I am the boss of Toowong Family Vet. When I’m not telling my staff to rub my belly or feed me, you can find me in my rightful place lounging in the sun in our beautiful reception area (correction, my beautiful reception area). As the owner of Dr Kirsty and Nurse Tahlia, and our wonderful new team members - Dr Tegan and Nurse Marie, I do give them permission to pay attention to other pets, but only because I have a very generous nature.

I have a keen eye for a good bow tie, am a connossieur of all things treats and bikkies, and on a daily basis, I donate my time and love (not to mention hair) to my lovely ladies, clients and passers-by alike. I recently brought home the QLD Clinic Cat of the Year crown (it's actually a trophy and fashionable sash to be more accurate), and placed fourth nationally. While I think it was rigged with treats and dollars passed under the table (because come on - have you seen this face?), I was quite proud to take home the state title.

Please come and admire me at Toowong Family Vet. I accept all pats, cuddles, comments on how cute I am and treats. Again, because I am so generous.
