HO HO HO - It's Santa Paws Time!
16 November, 2015

WHAT TIME IS IT?

SANTA PAWS TIME!

Once again, the time has come for Santa Paws to jump in his sleigh and bestow hearty hugs and tasty treats upon all the furry family members across the globe. Luckily for us, Santa Paws has cleared his schedule for a WHOLE day so that he can pay special attention to the Toowong Family Vet pets!

Sunday December 6th marks the special day your pet can come along and get a pet pawtrait with Santa Paws himself at Toowong Family Vet! Due to increasing popularity with each Santa Paws we hold, we have opted to open the clinic on Sunday (for Santa Paws Pawtraits only) so that we can focus purely on Santa and his pet pals, and so that the clinic can operate as usual on the Saturday for those animals requiring veterinary attention. So, why not come down to our first ever Sunday Santa Paws - the big guy himself has requested the attendance of all animals - big and small - to join in the festive festivities (his words, not ours hehe).

Santa Paws Pet Pawtraits are being held at the clinic on December 6th, 2014 between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Calls of interest are welcome, bookings aren't necessary but we recommend making one to minimise wait time for you and your pet. Alternatively, if you're happy to wait your turn and meet and greet the other pets and pet parents in the area, we say go for it! There will be some light refreshments for you, and yummy treats for our poochy and pussycat pals.

Join us for our "Yappy Christmeows!" clinic brunch on the day! There will be light refreshments, snack and goodies for all. Get to know your TFV neighbours and have a jolly good time while you do so!

NORMAN FOR CLINIC CAT OF THE YEAR!
1 July, 2015

FIRST IN QLD - FOURTH IN AUSTRALIA! Vote NOW to get him over the line!

We've received news that our very own Norman - clinic cat, expert napper, master of all things tuxedo - is in the TOP FOUR Clinic Cats in the whole of Australia!

Dermcare and Felimazole have had the country's very first 'Clinic Cat of the Year' competition and needless to say, clinics across the country have been sending in photos of (and filling in profiles for) their very own fancy feline. Norman has consistently been in the top 15 since the competition began, and we received word last week that he is in the TOP FOUR currently.

Now, we know everyone thinks that their own cat or dog or bird or guinea pig (and so on and so on) is the cutest, or the prettiest; the smartest of the funniest. We think Norman is certainly all that, and when we emailed and asked out clients and 'Norm Fanatics' to write why they thought Normie should win, we were completely inundated with wonderful words and letters of recommendation. Seven pages to be exact...

SO! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP NORM'S CAUSE TO BE THE BEST AND MOST FANCY FELINE IN ALL OF THE LAND, FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW TO CAST YOUR VOTE!

>>>>>>>http://dermcare.com.au/Felimazole-Cat-of-the-Year.html?view_cat=49<<<<<<<<

Enter your name and email address, open the confirmation email you receive from Dermcare and you're done! It's as simple as that!
Voting closes July 15th, 2015 - so only TWO WEEKS left to have your say and help get Norman over the line!

WE WILL ALSO BE HAVING A PET HAMPER TO RAFFLER OFF FOR ANYONE THAT HAS VOTED FOR NORMAN! Here's how you enter:

> Go to our Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/toowongfamilyvet
> 'LIKE' on our Norman for Clinic Cat of the Year Cover Photo
> TAG YOURSELF in the comments
> SHARE the Normie-inspired Cover Photo or Link (further down the page)
> Your entry goes into the running to win the Pet Pamper Hamper!
> One vote per email address

You will need to provide proof of voting (the email you receive from Dermcare when you enter in your details) in order to enter, and should you be the lucky one that wins!

(Oh, and did we mention that if should Normie win, we'll be buying him a ginormous cat throne to perch up in our Reception area.... Yep, we're totally serious....)

WINTER IS COMING: SO SENIOR PET SEMINARS ARE BACK!
29 June, 2015
JULY IS SENIOR PET MONTH!

Heading into winter, we often start to notice changes with our older pets. Some might be less active or sleep more. Others might show changes in eating, drinking or toileting habits.
This month, Toowong Family Vet will be holding its Senior Pet Seminars to help families with senior pets to pick up on the signs of certain health conditions and to learn what can be done to help. The seminars are also great for families with younger pets who want to know how to prevent or reduce the effects of certain age-related illnesses before they become advanced.

SENIOR PET SEMINAR
Wednesday June 17th 7pm-9pm
Join Dr Kirsty Fridemanis BVSc for this informative and interactive presentation on how to keep your pet healthier for longer. All questions encouraged.
Cost - $10 - Redeemed as a gift voucher* on the night to be spent on any products or services at Toowong Family Vet
FREE sample bags on the night!
(*Valid for one month. Not redeemable for cash)

DID YOU KNOW THAT BOTH DOGS AND CATS CAN SUFFER FROM ARTHRITIS?

Signs your dog could have arthritis:
- Difficulty rising or leaning weight forward
- Starting to tire easily on walks
- Reluctance to climb up and down stairs
- Appearing stiff in the legs, especially after resting
- Showing lameness or limping

Signs your cat could have arthritis:

- Less interaction with the family
- Spending less time grooming
- Often missing the litter tray
- Becoming grumpy

If you have noticed any of these signs in your dog or cat, please call Toowong Family Vet for one of our friendly nurses to discuss diets and joint supplements that might help your pet OR book an appointment with Dr Kirsty or Dr Tegan to discuss medications to improve your pet’s quality of life.
